Description

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is one of the safest and most effective nutrients however it isn’t practical for most people to consume the required servings of fruit and vegetables needed on a daily basis to have effective amounts of vitamin C in their system and therefore supplements are required. In addition to the commonly known benefits of supplementation, recent studies have highlighted accelerated bone healing, increases in collagen synthesis and the support of various cellular functions of the innate and adaptive immune system [1, 2].

Alkaline powder (sodium bicarbonate) is commonly used to buffer vitamin C – which vastly improves its intestinal uptake. In addition, it is used to buffer against acidity in the human body, since low bodily pH has been linked with many chronic diseases [3]. It is also well-known to enhance physical performance and is a valuable anti-oxidant in the body [4].

Our Vitamin C and Alkaline Powder each come in its own 250 g tub. This is to allow our customers to optimize the amount of buffered ascorbic acid they have each day – as every person is different and would require different quantities based on their individual and seasonal requirements.
